Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Excellent food, especially for under $10. They make the food right in front of you, so you know exactly what goes in it & how it is being prepared & treated. It is really fast, even though there is a line. I can't understand how people complain about the portion size: if anything, the portion size is a bit too large in my opinion. I cannot ever finish mine, no matter how I try to stuff my burrito bowl into me; it actually seems like it would be good for 2 meals to me (especially if I got a side of chips) but it doesn't seem like it would keep well until the next day. I always ask for extra lettuce & you can get as many extra salsas and veggies for no additional charge (except the guac is extra charge if you get meat but free if you get veggie burrito!). I always end up getting the burrito bowl, but there are so many ways to vary it, and it is SO yummy! I really appreciate that they try to get local ingredients and inform people if the ingredients are not from their usual local or antibiotic free providers. Besides always being nice & clean here, I suspect they treat the employees well as there is relatively low turn-over. I have been eating here at least since 2009. There are new staff, but they still have the same core staff (I did not have the nerve to ask how much they were paid). The staff work so hard it is difficult to chat with them b/c you mess up the assembly line production of the food; I am normally a Chatty Cathy, but out of respect for them, and other customers, I have stopped trying to talk to them too much. Today I caught one of the "new" staff in the restaurant area bussing tables: he has been there for over 4 months. He was beaming ear to ear even before I started talking to him & I asked him how long he was working there &c. He said a friend has introduced him to the restaurant & how much he liked the food & so he started working there and enjoys eating the food there even more now. WOW. I have worked in fast food before and found myself unable to eat the food from the place even though it was free after working there. I have seen Jimmy John's people eating there too, lol. Do not be intimidated by the line: the line is quite often to the door but it goes by in 5 minutes or less. How can people be unhappy about having freshly assembled food in that amount of time? It is way faster and less messy than it would take you to make at home. I didn't eat at Chipotle until 2009 b/c I had eaten at Qdoba and thought Qdoba was gross so I guess I kind of lumped them together. Also the parking is tight in the lot, it's better to park in the far lot and walk up, esp if you have a non-compact vehicle. Once I figured out that trick, it's super! Also I see the noise level question below, and for the price and kids' choices, there are fewer kids and they are better behaved than you would expect for such an inexpensive restaurant. They are never screeching; maybe b/c the food is healthy choice food? Even the juice choices do not have artificial coloring added to them.

YUM! The eternal debate continues... What came first, the chicken or the egg? Pepsi or Coke? These are not the questions my students are debating. They are asking: what is better, Chipotle or Qdoba? ANSWER: Chipotle for sure! I love me some Chipotle. As far as I can tell there is only one problem, and it is a major problem, many of the original stores HAIL from the Columbus area; I don't like hardly anything out of Columbus, but I guess I need to make an exception. As far as fast food goes, this is where I go!

I love the food! I eat here at least once a week. They are slow, but in the last month they've gotten a slight bit faster. Staff is very nice! My only con is the portions. When you get in line and order, they're great, but if you order online like I do frequently and they have the back station set up, my portions are borderline depressing. With all my toppings on the rice bowl, the contents doesn't even clear the bowl its in. I think it's a mentality thing: when someone is watching you, you ensure good portions. Parking and leaving is a pain during lunch rush. Please don't try to make that left turn on to Washtenaw. Take the service road down to the corner and use the light, thanks!

Food is good as usual. The line is long as usual, but it is moving pretty quickly. I think I only had to wait for about 7 minutes from coming into the store to getting my food. The service was great. The guy who scooped up the black beans took his time (a few seconds) to drain them before he dumped them on my hard tacos. Thank you! It made a lot of difference eating crunchy tacos when it is supposed to be. Some other chipotle stores sometimes didn't do that...and made my crunchy tacos become soggy and fall apart. My only complain though, the store looks filthy. I came here at around 11:45 am. I saw messy tables with not many people sitting on them. I saw dried guacamole on some of the chairs and tables, so I would think those are messes from the night before. There were a lot of messes on the floor. There were so many dirty dishes/containers behind the counter. I think the shift manager from the night should check on the store cleanliness before closing. Please clean up better.

I always enjoy the meal at this location. They are busy so everything is always super fresh. However this location does not serve alcohol. Service is very hit or miss (mostly miss). It's terrible 75% of the time but occasionally you'll get a good employee (Don't get your hopes up). If you want to avoid a line out the door around dinner time, you need to arrive closer to 5 than 6. Anything after that and you're in for nightmare parking and long waits.
(3)Candiss W.
What can I say? It's a Chipotle. Quality fast casual, but nothing that stands out about this location in particular. Same old...
(3)Preston C.
Had to ask for silverware and napkins. dirty tables and little knowledge or patience of kids options. Not the best chipotle experience.
(2)Irvin H.
The food is always good but the service needs a lot of work. They are really slow and they don't seem to care about speeding up. Some seem that they really don't want to be there and don't care about the service they provide to the customers.
(3)Shelby A.
New staff. Management seems to have made some changes and things run smoother here now!
(3)John K.
First of all, this location always has great food just like any other chipotle. My two star rating is based on poor service and a lack restaurant cleanliness. On my past four visits, the line of customers has been out the door and the staff seems to lack the organization to handle it. They try to rush through the line and start your meal with 10 people in line in front of you that haven't paid yet which leads to confusion. Every empty table was very messy and had not been wiped down. But I'll keep going because I love the food.
(2)J P.
If you're going to pay nearly 10.00 for a subway-esque burrito...this is how you do it. Pack everything you see inside a huge flour tortilla shell until it weighs 12 lbs...then attempt to finish the monster you have created. Cry about the carbs, calories and fat content later. This place is where portion control goes to die. Deliciously.
(5)Shane R.
Solid Chipotle. Nice staff, always busy. Not the cleanest
(4)Jennifer S.
It's been a while since I've been to a Chipolte restaurant so this reminded me of why I don't come here. It is way too pricey. Food was good but not worth what I paid.
(2)Paul P.
I really like this location, even during the busy lunch rush they really keep things moving.
(5)Jennifer W.
I have always loved loved loved Chipotle. I would drive 1/2 with my friends to go eat at Chipotle. However, this Washtenaw Ave location has made me lose my taste in it all together. Every time I get my usual, a steak burrito, it's worse than the time before. They put 1/4 the meat I'm used to getting at other locations and I've also had a worker ignore the words "VERY LIGHT" by a long shot every time. So in the end I eat a bean and rice burrito with a bite of steak every once in a while. Also my friend ordered a quesadilla and they told him he'd have to cut it himself. So needless to say, I may have to go back to my habits of driving out of town for Chipotle if I ever crave it again.

Staff wasn't too friendly and dropped my change when she handed it back to me. She didn't offer to give me my change after she dropped it. It was only 11 cents, but it's the principle of it. Place always has tables that are dirty. Most of the time we have to clean them in order to eat. Place was lined up out the door at 8:15PM today. Food is great and they loaded my burrito up.
(3)Eric A.
Typical chipotle restaurant. Exactly what you'd want and expect. The servers have always been friendly.
(4)Shirley H.
This rating is purely based on this location. I love chipotle and qdoba, but this location seemed a little off on everything. My hubs and I decided to have dinner here because we had watched 'Farmed and Dangerous,' which is an original show that is put on by chipotle. During the show, they offer a chance to win burritos if you answer a few questions correctly. Well, we got a text saying buy one get one free and decided to cash in on that. Unfortunately, the cashier had never heard of 'Farmed and Dangerous (even though the large cups are plastered with the F&D ad over the WHOLE cup),' and ignored my request to enter a code in, since the scanning the phone QRCode wasn't working. I order a Barbacoa burrito and the meat just lacked flavor and was cooked a little too long. The brown rice also was slightly tough to chew. I'll stick to qdoba from now on and go to the chipotle at the mall, if I'm really craving C.
(2)Baxter M.
First time to visit Chipotle and I must say it was not good. Not good at all. My co-workers come here for lunch once a week and rave about it, I can't understand why. The food was terrible. It makes me want to reconsider what I think about my co-workers. I mean if they like this crap, then I really have to question their judgment. I had a steak burrito that cost $7.20 plus tax. The "steak" was almost inedible. The meat was the toughest beef I have ever been served in a restaurant. Imagine all of your favorite tough meat jokes and they would all apply to this garbage "steak" that was in the "steak" burrito. I once had dog meat by accident at a Chinese restaurant in Canada that wasn't as bad the "steak" at Chipotle. It seems that one of the prerequisites to work here is that you cannot speak English. It really adds to the third world charm that this place exudes. Between the filthy tables, the floor covered with grime, a parking lot filled with trash, all of the workers questionable personal hygiene, not a hair net in sight, and bathrooms that only a homeless person could love, I say stay away from Chipotle, I know I will.
(1)Ryan B.
Great food. Extremely long wait, even during an early 5PM dinner.
(3)Kim W.
This specific Chipotle location is a disaster. I don't mind a line but this one barely moved. I was there last night and by the time I finally got to the register there was no one there to ring me out. I stood for several minutes waiting to pay and to help speed things along I placed my food in a to-go bag. Finally a cashier, older guy with a ponytail, came over and SHOUTED down the line to the burrito makers "I have no idea what this girl just put in her bag!" I started to tell him my order and he shushed me. It was RUDE. Look dude, I'm not a thief, I just want to get my food and get out of your store. I mentioned how long I had been waiting and he said "look, this line is nothing" basically refusing to acknowledge the poor service. Then, after I paid and he stared rudely at me until I moved when I realized he didn't give me the chips or the bottle of water I paid for. At that point he basically threw them at me. This was the oldest guy working, he should have more maturity than that!! I took my food to go and was disgusted with the fatty and chewy steak. I will NOT be back to this Chipotle and I suggest you go elsewhere as well.

UPDATE 10/16/14 Been coming here once a week on Thursdays and haven't had any problems. Can't say if the service is still meh on weekends. Still -1 star because it's never clean even when they aren't too busy. I usually LOVE Chipotles, but everyone always seems clueless here. They messed up more than one person's order, slowing down the line. They also don't seem to give as much food as any other chipotle I've been to. The majority of the tables were dirty, even though they were slow and at least 2 employees were on their break (at least cleanup before you sit to eat!) The food was on par with the other Chipotles, which is about the only thing this location has going for
(4)Alex N.
Unbelievably slow. There is constantly a huge line. Not bad if you like waiting 15 minutes for anything
(2)Bob G.
There is ALWAYS a line out the door. Not because its so busy. Because the people that work there could care less. The women that make the burritos do not listen to you and everyone else that works there takes their sweeta** time doing anything. Im watching one girl on her phone right now who is working the register. If you ever have gone to this one you know already this is true. There is no manager ever to be found there. So worker cares about making anyone happy. Avoid this one at all Cost.
(1)Abbagaille O.
The cashier I came upon today truly upset me. I had my order ready to check out and he gave me complete attitude when I asked for a lid. He continued on with his cocky behavior when I started putting my food into a bag. He continues to tell me "that's not going to fit, that's not going to fit, that's not going to fit." I would have understood if he had said it one time in a polite manner, but that was not the case. He was saying it to me in a terrible tone and trying to purposely upset me. Chipotle needs to get it together with hiring people with customer service skills. I will never provide this location with my presence again.
(1)Zack A.
The original concept or chipotle was to be fast. But now it seems that all of these chains take about 30 min to get any food. Last time I'm coming to his one.
(1)Crystal R.
How have I not written a review for Chipotle yet? Chipotle is BY FAR the best of the Qdoba/Moes/Panchero subset of "choose your own burrito" places. They use organic ingredients and offer lots of options. The barbacoa is my favorite. I would definitely suggest ponying up the extra money for the guacamole- even if you don't normally like guac, this stuff is AMAZING. Their staff is always friendly, the place is kepy clean, even when busy, and they can churn people through the line fast. Can't complain about that.
(5)Sarah T.
The parking here is a disasterrrrrr oh my gosh. But the foods always taste consistent, which is good. "Some" workers seem to be not from the U.S since they barely speak English , which is annoying at times. Burrito bowls are always yummy when made right.
(3)Nicholas A.
This might sound crazy, but this was my first ever setting foot in a chipotle! There really isn't any near my house but I found this one not far from campus! Needless to say, lll be going back! It was delicious and in my opinion blows qdoba right out of the water!
(4)Josh C.
I've no idea what I like so much about Chipotle. It's another burrito joint and its quite similar to all the rest ("Subway for burritos," as I used to explain to people when I worked for Moe's years ago). Perhaps it is because this place is across the street from Qdoba and the ingredients are higher quality/more flavorful? Or maybe they've just managed to get the burrito joint formula down. Whatever, I'm a big fan of Chipotle. The prices are great, the portions quite good, and food always satisfying. I'm vegan so my burritos always look pretty much the same (sort of by necessity) but I don't even mind because it's always awesome. So, you know, it's not La Fiesta Mexican or Mexican Village (Mexican-town), but it's a good, quick meal that is reliable and even potentially, theoretically healthy (*note: that's really a factor of personal choices, there). The only real downside is the tight and fairly difficult parking lot. Make sure you've got your banana peel, folks, because you might need to spin someone out to get in here if it's during a lunch/dinner rush. That being said, it's worth the trouble.
(4)Kevin K.
what can be said about chipotle? ok so it isnt mexican food, it is owned by mcdonalds. the burritos are like 1000 calories. that being said, it is delicious, cheap, and filling and tastes pretty darn fresh.
(3)Daron D.
Short and Sweet I keep it 100% straight: Best burrito i have ever had, One of the top 5 best tacos i done ever had, excellent toppings, meat and rice is delicious, tortilla chips is one of the best, and the hot salsa is a must. Only negative is that it does have few choices, especially compare to competitors qdoba and Moe's, however, it is 100% better than both of those place.
(5)Joyce S.
I go to this chipotle regularly. The lines tend to be slightly less than that of the State Street location. They have parking available which is also plus. You get your standard chipotle burrito. Quality and service seem to be pretty standard. My favorite is the chicken burrito bowl with the tortilla on the side, brown rice, fajita vegetables, pinto beans, mild and corn salsa. Get the guacamole is you can. It is delicious!
(3)Troy L.
Food is good, ridiculous line always out the door. Why can't they hire more people to work here if they're always that busy. I won't be back.
(1)Athena K.
This location is a-ok! It's less crowded than the state street one and while they do occasionally run out of stuff right before closing in general I can't complain about anything here. The outdoor seating is a nice bonus!
(3)Kristen C.
My burrito bowl was a bit on the small side, but it was really tasty! I love Chipotle and I always will, it's seldom less than fantastic. Whoever came up with the idea to put 3 kinds of hot sauce out was a genius and deserves a raise!
(4)Jacob H.
As a part-time Chicagoan I was longing for Chipotle earlier today, so I Siri-ed the nearest one, and got my usual Mexican fare. While Chipotle may be familiar to many, to those who are Chipotle virgins, I'd highly suggest taking the chance on this place! I love how the Chipotle menu is so simple, yet you can do a lot with things. Do you want a quesadilla, tacos, burrito, etc.? What kind of meat? What type of salsa/garnishes? Chips & drink? I'll admit that the steak can be a bit too chewy at times, but the pork and chicken are solid choices that are insignificantly lower in price. The service was speedy as usual, and my virgin mother got some pretty good assistance from the gentleman who takes orders. I was disappointed this location wasn't running any Foursquare deals, but the manager rung us up and offered free chips & salsa to my mother because it was her first time. I thought that was a very nice gesture. They definitely want repeat customers! I give Chipotle 5 stars because the team met and more or less exceeded my expectations. It was a rush, but they handled things well. Location was clean and well maintained, less the trash bin which was in need of attention. And of course the chips were to die for. Seriously, they're $1.25, just get them!

We are on a burrito kick lately. Chipotle is another one of the mexican fast food but nicer restaurants that are fairly common everywhere. You order, watch as they make it and take it right to your table, thus avoiding the need to tip. It always makes dining more affordable. I love Chipotle. The ingredients are top notch and every item is natural and organic. The meat is raised on a vegetarian diet as well as being hormone and cruelty free. It is the kind of place I feel better for eating in as well as enjoying the flavor. All meats are marinated in an adobo. It makes them tender and juicy. I am a fan of the chicken but my husband loves the barbacoa, which is spicy shredded braised beef. The vegetarian option is black beans and includes guac (yay), with the fajita burrito it also includes sauteed onions and peppers. You can choose your way to eat Chipotle deliciousness, burrito with beans, fajita burrito with sauteed onions and peppers, plain in a bowl, in hard corn or soft flour tacos or on top of a salad of romaine lettuce. Any way you get it is tasty but I am a fan of the fajita burrito myself. The burrito has a little kick to it even with the mildest salsa, fresh tomato, which is very pleasant. I highly recommend the guacamole and chips side. The guac is very fresh and chunky. The chips are not greasy and crisp. My husband is annoyed they do not have queso, which is his favorite thing with chips, he settles for the mild fresh tomato salsa (pico de gallo). I prefer it here while my husband prefers the cheaper with coupons Moe's. He says the sour cream is too soupy here (it is quite thin but I enjoy that) and he likes Moe's cheese (more generic and orange at Moe's- I like Chipotle's) and more different options of toppings better. We both prefer the meat here and we both agree that Moe's burritos are somehow more filling. I think if Chipotle had queso my husband wouldn't be as picky. So you decide for yourselves. We go to both as we are fans of fast and fresh mex and they are both good cheap options for us.
(3)Roy B.
My wife loves Chipotle, and I like it too. Been here many times, and usually it's a pretty good experience. The line can get a little long, but that comes with the territory. Most Chipotles are easy 4 stars but this gets a 3 because there are a couple of employees there that don't seem to be very customer-oriented. For instance, chatting with friends/customers while ringing you up. The cashier wasn't paying attention so I have to ask for the soda cups that I paid for. Handed soda cups with no apology or eye contact. Basically like "be gone"
(3)Jen Z.
I go here often, but I just found out about their cool company philosophy to use food that's organic, from local farms, or from animals raised without antibiotics or added hormones. Not every item is organic, local, etc., but it's a huge start! Everyone knows the food is tasty and fresh, so I'll just say yummmm! There are 2 minor quirks at Chipotle, for which I've happily adapted. If you want pico de gallo, Chipotle calls it "tomato salsa" or "mild salsa." If you get beans, make sure to ask them to strain the beans an extra bit so your food doesn't get soggy. Again, minor things, and I forgive them because of their awesome company philosophy. :)
(4)Rob P.
I am not reviewing Chipotle in general, because good lord their burritos are pretty good overall and consistent. I am however reviewing this particular Chipotle. The last couple times I've gone here have been an exercise test of patience. If they are not confusing my order by putting sour cream on a burrito (where I specifically and clearly say no sour cream), they are rolling their eyes in frustration as I say no, I'd like a new burrito without sour cream. Perhaps it's just the time I choose to go, usually around 8:30...Not sure what the issue is, but it's frustrating to go here hungry and just know that something will get messed up... My burrito options seem to be dwindling because the Qdoba nearby is even worse (consistently filthy counters), but alas that's for a different review.
(2)Chris B.
Love me some Chipotle! Fresh ingredients. Awesome guacamole. I eat Paleo and this is my favorite "fast food" place. Can be a bit pricy for "fast food" but to me it's worth it for the highish quality ingredients. It's my favorite of the Moe's/Qdoba/BajaFresh/Chipotle mexicanish custom-built burrito ilk. This location is pretty typical. You move through the line quickly and the counter folks have always been friendly. Restaurant has been clean when we've visited. Two thumbs up.
(4)Heather K.
Chipotle vs. Qdoba seems to be an epic battle that will never be resolved. I'm a Chipotle girl, because the ingredients are higher quality and I don't think Qdoba's variety is well executed. This Chipotle is...a Chipotle. They are a chain, and that is the glory of the whole concept. You know what to expect, you know what to order, it fills up your belly, and you are happy. At this particular Chipotle, they are happy to give you a tortilla to go with your burrito bol, and seem to have problems wrapping the burritos. Like all other Chipotles, the burritos are steeped in sodium and leave you thirsty for hours, and you are charged an extra $1.75 for guacamole. Get chips! They squeeze lime juice over them and then sprinkle them with salt, which makes them crackalicious.
(3)TJ H.
Chipotle how I love thee. It seems like everyone has there favorite fresh-mex joint. Now I like BTB also, but for different menu items. This place has the tastiest chicken in my opinion. The food consistently appears and taste very fresh. My favorite menu items is the chicken soft tacos, with green salsa. Its a little pricey for the amount of food but no one else does the taco better in my opinion. One of my biggest problems with other places that serve tacos is that they try to put a burrito amount of food in a little taco shell. It just turns into a big mess. No, no, no, ... sweet simplicity is what I appreciate.
(4)Lauren B.
I'm just saying, how can you call yourself a mexican establishment and NOT serve queso? What?! You should be ashamed. Let's just be honest here. Chipotle is a lesser Qdoba. I was studying at the UGLI for the MCAT, and since it's, you know, the MCAT, I couldn't justify going far for a long lunch break. I wanted Qdoba, but had to settle for Chipotle. I took this disappointment in stride, and I got the chicken burrito - a staple. But, I sat back down in my seat and unwrapped the foil of my expected heaven of a lunchtime burrito and was beyond disappointed. I would go so far as to say it ruined my day. I was upset by my burrito experience for at least an hour. They charge you extra for guac and extra sour cream....that's just inappropriate. There are better mexican chains out there.
(2)Shon C.
I know, it's a chain. Burrito snobs everywhere feel free to cluck your tongues, look down your nose at me. But Chipotle -- I love you. Seriously. Love. You.
(4)Jason C.
This was my first time at Chipotle, no kidding. My friends couldn't believe it... I wasn't sure why people loved this place at all... It's not like I had this urge to go and try it out... So after couple hours of playing basketball, Chipotle was the nearest place to eat, so we ended up here. Now being newbie, I had to study the menu for about five minutes. The while thing looked simple enough and quite easy... The concept is similar as Subway, Qdoba, etc.. I picked burrito bowl with little rice, steak, and the works. I also got chips with hot salsa. I wasn't really moved by the food itself... same type of foods as other 'fast Mexican' joints, but presented in different manner... The steak was tender and good, nicely seasoned as well... the combination of the beans, rice, tomatoes and others brought the taste together. From a newbie to anyone who hasn't tried it yet, go and check it out. I'll visit again and try other foods just to expand my experience at Chipotle...

Confession: I had never been to Chipotle until last week. Mainly because when I lived in Chicago, which has as many little corner taquieras as it does bars (i.e. way too many), there was really no reason to get down with burritos, chain restaurant-style. So I finally got to visit after my last steak burrito from Big Ten featured more gristle than actual steak, my in-laws gave the mister and I some cash for a "fancy dinner" for our anniversary, and we decided to live it up by getting "pricey" burritos for dinner. All in all, not bad at all. I had the steak burrito with the hottest salsa they have, which was just a little bit not hot enough (I'm a spicy food freak, I'll admit it). It was huge, I ate most of it, and there was only one teeeeeny piece of gristle in the whole thing. Yaaaay chain restaurants! Bonus side story: I have a friend who ordered all four meats, both bean options, and all the extras in one buritto (which actually took two tortillas to cover). He got it for free because the employees were so impressed with his gluttony. And he actually ate the whole thing.
(4)Natasha G.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place...You can feel good about what you are eating because its fresh and mostly local produce. I wish I could eat here everyday!!!!!!!!
(5)Josh W.
Aimless and I received a free burrito coupon in the mail and decided to try it out. A big vegetarian with beans, rice, gourmet salsa, guacamole and cheese + a side of chips and guac & a drink came to about $9.50 not including the coupon. It was good but basically a really fancy modern Taco Bell, if Taco bell wasn't considered ghetto and had a modern design and charged 10x as much... It was good food though, a nice change from Tios and they were very fast with the order.

My Chipotle experiences here fall right in line with most of my other Chipotle experiences: glorious. While in school at U-M, my life was a gaping pit of missery for want of a Chipotle restaurant. Chiptole could only be my special treat every time I was back home in Rochester Hills, MI or visiting the g/f at the time in Columbus, OH. Then, one beautiful Thursday in my winter semester of grad school, the clouds of 100 gray days broke in the sky, a loving light poured forth from the heavens, and this Chipotle opened up. That Thursday, they formed a marvelously efficient burrito assembly line and gave everyone a free burrito. I came for both lunch and dinner.

A chain has tough competition in AA, but they do the job.

I hate this place. Never go here! Sick! If you want food, there are numerous and better options.

I like it, and have gone there with fans and with someone who was disappointed. Atmosphere is VERY basic, fast food decor. The food tasted pretty fresh to me, though not that hot.

Here's the thing: 4 years ago I had the misfortune of being plucked from the Bay Area (if California is the Holy Land of Burritos, the Mission in SF is Mecca) and deposited in MIlwaukee. I begrudgingly came to learn that the closest approximation of a Mission burrito would be found at Chipotle. I ran this by my pals in CA, and they agree....Anyways, in time I came to actually suffer a little Stockholm syndrome and now I reallly like Chipotle and identify with it. I realize that it's twice as much as a CA burrito, doesn't come with free chips, and you have to pay EXTRA for guacamole, but it still beats the hell out of Qdoba, which is like a blandy bland from blandy town, (you call that hot salsa?) Plus Qdoba always makes me sick.

This is basically the best burrito place in the area. Comparisons: -Qdoba - Qdoba is never as fresh, and doesn't really have the right spices. -Big Ten - a good place to go when you're kinda drunk. And really only for the quesadillas. Chipotle is miles beyond here with fresh salsas, nice marinades, and just overall better ingredients for the same price. -Panchero's - I used to go here a ton, but it's just too expensive for what it is. Also tastes better when you're drunk. You end up paying way more here for way less, than compared to Chipotle.

Chipotle's menu is limited to burritos or burrito fillings in a bowl. they could easily expand their menu to nachos and the such. Qdoba gets my vote for the Mexican subway style of food.
